Entries Open For The Half Marathon
Entries for the Cape Town Festival of Running Half Marathon opened on 1 June 2017. Entries are limited to the first 1000 so participants are advised to enter soon to avoid missing out.
Organised by the Hewat Athletics Club, the Cape Town Festival of Running offers runners a number of exciting running events that include the following:
- 100km Ultra
- 50km mini-Ultra
- 5 x 5km Team Relay (a popular option for friends, families, local businesses and running clubs)
- 21.1km Half Marathon (a gentle undulating route that runs along a section of the coastal route from Sea Point out towards Camps Bay and back)
What makes this event particularly special is that the ultra distances and relay take place in a unique loop format along the picturesque Sea Point Promenade and Beach Road, adding an immense mental challenge for the ultra participants. The 100km and 50km Ultras are both official qualifiers for the Old Mutual Two Oceans Ultra Marathon.
The Cape Town Festival of Running is endorsed by the Two Oceans Marathon NPC as part of TOMI’s (Two Oceans Marathon Initiative) dedication to supporting the community and promoting the development of running – and especially ultra distance running – in the Western Cape.
The event is scheduled to take place on 22 & 23 July 2017 and caters for runners and walkers of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels.
